 American
Collectors Insurance now has Antique Motorcycle
coverage available in most states*.
(not available in AK, DC, HI, and NY).
American Collectors Insurance will quote a "single" qualifying motorcycle and does not
require an antique motorcycle "collection." To qualify, a bike must
be:
- At least 15 years old (at
least 25 years old in MA)
- Custom Choppers, regardless of age,
will be considered
- Kept in a fully-enclosed and locked
garage
- Driven for pleasure only, and not for
general transportation
American Collectors Insurance's program appeals to
antique motorcycle enthusiasts for the same two reasons it appeals
to classic car & street rod enthusiasts: Agreed Value coverage and
low "collector" rates.
Agreed Value coverage pays a vehicle's full insured value in the
event of total loss, meaning there is no depreciation of vehicle
value. Also, American Collectors Insurance provides
"Inflation Guard*," which increases vehicle value by 2% every three
months, up to a maximum of 8% per year, at no additional cost
(*Available in most states).
"Collector" rates are in general much lower than standard motorcycle
